Have a lookFrom a degree in Music Technology to roles in adult mental health, tutoring, and as an audio and lighting technician, Duncan finally found his calling in IT at a University Service Desk. This diverse background shaped his people-centric approach, focusing on strong professional relationships, effective communication, and ethical use of technology to drive positive outcomes.
As Service Desk Team Leader, Duncan oversees the team to ensure customers receive the best possible experience while driving internal improvements to services. He’s passionate about building close partnerships with clients in an industry often seen as transactional, helping businesses grow sustainably through technology. Duncan holds an ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
Outside of work, he’s a deep-cut nerd with a love for astronomy, and plays guitar, bass, and drums, having impressively performed Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall.

Quickfire
What excites me most about working in IT?
Working with people to understand and implement new technologies to deliver efficiency and best practice and to do so with outstanding customer service, understanding the needs of our customers and delivering bespoke solutions.
What do I like about working at Inflection Point MSP?
The best group of people I have had the pleasure of working with – and this includes our customers. We trust our team to understand their role and to work with each other right across the business, regardless of their position. Everybody supports each other and supports every department. We have great relationships with our customers and we always work hard to understand their needs and to assist them in implementing their business priorities.
What do I do in my spare time?
I enjoy astronomy and a have a decent collection of telescopes and accessories! Looking at the night sky is to look back in time and to see the Universe as it was and also to see the future, from the oldest objects we can see like Globular Clusters to the Sun’s eventual cataclysm in Red Giants and Planetary Nebulae. I also enjoy spending time with my dog – who is very well camouflaged at night, especially when she’s investigating the undergrowth! Alongside this, I also create ambient and noise music using old, obsolete hardware and self-written software.
