Meet Sean: Head of Technical Services
A Decade of Experience in MSP
Sean brings over ten years of experience in the managed services sector to his new role. Starting his career as a technical engineer, he progressed through various positions, including project engineer and managing multiple service desks. His extensive experience within MSP environments equips him with a unique understanding of client needs.
A Vision for Continuous Improvement
In his role as Head of Technical Services, Sean is dedicated to driving continuous improvement and efficiency within the technical teams. He emphasises the importance of developing engineers’ skills and expanding Inflection Point’s service offerings to better serve our clients. “My main focus is continuous improvement. I want to enhance efficiencies within our teams and develop our engineers’ technical skill sets. Expanding our service offerings is also a key priority,” Sean states. “I believe that by investing in our people and processes, we can deliver even better support to our customers.”
Balancing Work and Family Life
Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending quality time with his three-year-old son and their energetic Jack Russell.
Meet Thomas: Service Desk Team Member
From Fitness to IT
Thomas joins Inflection Point with an impressive 20-year career in the fitness industry, where he ran his own personal training and nutrition business alongside a boot camp. He also designed websites and provided hosting, marketing, and SEO services for clients over the last 15 years. His passion for IT blossomed during the pandemic, leading him to complete CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ courses over a two-year period, with a keen interest in pursuing a career in penetration testing.
Eager to Learn and Grow
Thomas was drawn to Inflection Point after years of admiration for Managing Director Iain and the company’s growth. “After completing the CompTIA courses, it wasn’t very easy to get into a position with practical experience. The opportunity came up to start at Inflection Point to kickstart my IT career and use the fundamentals day in, day out,” he explains. “While learning IT theoretically is good, nothing is as usable as practical; as the saying goes, an ounce of practical beats a tonne of theory.” In his role as Service Desk Apprentice, he looks forward to learning how software and hardware work together in real-world situations and gaining insight from the end-user perspective.
Family and Fitness
In his free time, Thomas prioritises spending time with his wife and son, his number one focus. He also enjoys fitness, sports, learning about technology, and exploring nature through walks.
