A Humble Beginning and the Path to Growth
Founded in 2010, Inflection Point started as a modest venture with a bold vision. The early years were marked by ambition, learning, and the challenges that come with building a business from the ground up. Running the company with another director brought its own complexities-different ideas, contrasting approaches, and the constant need to find common ground. Navigating these difficulties was never easy, but it taught me invaluable lessons about compromise, vision alignment, and the importance of resilience.
In 2018, when I took full control of Inflection Point, our trajectory changed significantly. The freedom to implement a unified vision allowed us to accelerate growth, innovate faster, and strengthen our commitment to our clients.
The Ever-Evolving IT Landscape: From 2010 to 2025
The IT industry has undergone seismic shifts over the past 15 years. In 2010, cloud computing was still in its infancy, with many businesses sceptical about migrating away from on-premise infrastructure. Today, cloud services are the backbone of modern business operations. Inflection Point has been at the forefront of this evolution, helping clients transition to the cloud, ensuring they stay competitive and agile.
Cybersecurity has also transformed dramatically. The threats we face today are far more sophisticated than they were a decade ago. Our recent ISO 27001 certification is a testament to our commitment to maintaining the highest security standards for our clients.
Automation and AI, once the stuff of science fiction, are now integral to our service offerings. By embracing these technologies, we’ve not only improved our operational efficiency but also enhanced the services we provide to our clients.
Our Growth Story: Milestones and Achievements
Since 2018, Inflection Point has grown by 525%, expanding our team by 14 members to just under 20 staff. Our journey has been marked by significant milestones:
- Achieving ISO 27001 certification, which has strengthened our security posture.
- Becoming a “runs on EOS” company, ensuring that our operations are streamlined and our vision is clear.
- Nearing the completion of our B-Corp assessment process, underscoring our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
We’ve invested heavily in our service desk, telephony services, and cybersecurity, ensuring our clients receive top-notch support and protection.
Bringing Enterprise-Level IT to SMEs
My journey before Inflection Point has been instrumental in shaping our approach. Working for Insight, a Fortune 500 Microsoft Partner, and building Enterprise Architecture teams for Bristol City Council and several universities, I gained first-hand experience in managing large-scale IT operations. This experience has enabled us to bring enterprise-level IT solutions to SMEs, helping them implement best practices that drive growth and efficiency.
For example, one of our clients, a growing manufacturing firm, faced challenges with their IT infrastructure. By applying enterprise architecture principles, we overhauled their IT systems, improving their productivity and scalability. Today, they operate seamlessly across multiple locations.
Sharing Knowledge Through NED Roles
Serving as a Non-Executive Director (NED) and board advisor to several businesses has been a rewarding experience. It has allowed me to gain insights into various industries, understand unique challenges, and develop strategies that foster growth. This knowledge and experience are continuously brought back to Inflection Point, enriching the support we provide to our clients.
Building a Strong Leadership Team
Our ability to scale and grow over the coming years is anchored in our exceptional Senior Leadership Team. With a Head of Sales & Marketing, Head of Technical Services, and Head of Operations, we have built a solid foundation that will support our journey from 20 staff to 40-50 in the next three years. This team not only brings expertise but also shares a common vision and passion for what we do.

As we celebrate 15 years, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the future. Our mission remains the same: to be the catalyst for change that helps our clients grow and succeed. The next few years will see us expanding our team, enhancing our services, and continuing to build strong relationships with our key partners like Microsoft, Google, AWS, Pax8, and more.
